Dates are high in sugar and vitamins such as potassium and magnesium as well as an excellent source of fiber and carbohydrates. When fasting, our body can easily develop health conditions like low blood sugar, headaches and lethargy. Therefore, dates are particularly beneficial during Ramadan. Consuming dates just before a meal could also satisfy our sensation of hunger which helps prevent overeating.
