Ingredients:
2 ripe avocado
70g romaine lettuce (or any preferred vegetables)
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon minced ginger
Sesame seeds for garnish
Red pepper flakes (optional, for spice)
Salt to taste
Instructions:
Make Dressing:
In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and minced ginger until well combined.
Prepare Avocado:
Cut the avocado in half and remove the pit. Carefully peel the skin and slice as desired
Prepare Lettuce:
Cut into bite-sized pieces for easier and better eating experience
Prepare Tofu (tau kwa):
Cut the tofu into small cubes and set aside.
Optional: For an added touch of texture and flavor, you can pan fry the tofu cubes until golden brown before tossing them with the avocado and dressing. This step adds a crispy exterior to the tofu while maintaining its tender interior, creating a delightful contrast in each bite. Simply heat a bit of oil in a pan over medium heat, add the tofu cubes, and cook until golden brown on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Once fried, let them cool slightly before combining with the avocado and dressing.
Combine Ingredients:
In a mixing bowl, gently toss the tofu, lettuce and avocado cubes together.
Pour the dressing over the tofu and avocado mixture. Gently toss until everything is evenly coated.
Chill and Serve:
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Before serving, garnish with sliced green onions, sesame seeds, and red pepper flakes if desired.
Enjoy!
