Management Trainee (Purchasing) – Fruits & Vegetables

Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in a 3–6 months rotation across key business units, including retail stores and warehouse operations, to gain a foundational understanding of end-to-end operations
- Undergo classroom and on-the-job training to develop functional knowledge, leadership skills, and cross-functional awareness
- Take part in cross-departmental projects aimed at improving operational efficiency and category performance
- Upon completion of the rotation, be deployed to the Fruits & Vegetables department and be trained in all aspects of category management — from sourcing and supply chain to merchandising and retail execution
- Progress into a supervisory or managerial role based on performance, business needs, and individual strengths
Requirements:
- Degree in any discipline; Diploma holders with relevant experience are welcome to apply
- Proficient in Excel and data analysis; familiarity with procurement systems an advantage
- Strong negotiation and analytical abilities; knowledge in retail management, supply chain, or marketing is an advantage
- Strong interest in fresh produce and retail operations
- Good team player with leadership potential and a positive, hands-on attitude
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin is preferred to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Independent, self-motivated, resourceful, and reliable
- Be customer oriented and possess pleasant disposition
